Jobs on India

Image
With the deeper penetration of gadgets into our life, we surely started reading and watching a lot of stuff online. But in the chaos of being everything online, somewhere we are leaving good habits of substantial reading. A good book have the charisma to transcend  its reader into a different world. It can unearth the world of knowledge, imagination, passion and wisdom. It's always good to read and learn about great personalities. Their perspective of life is very much different from what an average person usually perceives.  Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs is extensive but one can enjoy every bit of it.  Jobs spent seven months in India roaming in Delhi, Haridwar, villages around nainital and in Manali. According to book, later he said about the trip to India as- "The people in the Indian countryside don't use their intellect like we do,  they use their intuition instead, and their intuition is far more developed than...

I Want To Make It Big

Image
There are two types of people in this world. One is pessimist and another is optimist. Sanjay is the second type. He is full of hope for a brighter future. Sanjay is a mechanic and runs a car service center in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.  His shop is small but he has really big ideas for life. He recalls that day in year 2000, when his family sold some of their farm land to the government. They got money in the form of compensation. But instead of spending on luxury they built their house and invested in his older brother Rajeev’s car service center business.  That paid off and later Rajeev started pushing Sanjay to learn car repairing techniques. Sanjay is the second in the family. He has two younger brothers. He smiles and says, he is the only person who went to complete 8 th standard in school. But this never bothers him. Sanjay believes more than education one needs to be aware things around them and grab rightful opportunities without hesitating. Now Sanjay want...

This Dog Is Lonely...

How many times you feel like screaming out loud? I know people who shared their feelings of loneliness, feeling of someone not there when you need most. It hurts more when you have nothing to do at home and there is nobody except you alone in the confinements of an abode. You go to one room to another, switch on and switch off the TV, surf the net and do all the regular stuff, you prepare tea and wanted to chat to your wife or son or any member of the home but at that particular time nobody is not there for you. You fee sorry and angry at that moment. You want to scream. I felt the same way so many times. In fact, everybody in some way needs companionship, which I feel is the most essential thing for life. There is a dog in my housing society. Who regularly barks between 8.30 - 9.30 AM. He is my neighbor’s dog. A cute Pomeranian breed. Two years ago, they brought him home. The family consists of three member father, mother and a school going kid. They are a happy family and en...

Movies Are For Entertainment ?

Image
One quote about movies I like most is said by Richard King. He said "Movies are an art form that is very available to the masses". When we watch movies we fall in love with its story telling, cinematography, visual appeal, amazing sets, soulful music and dance, brilliant acting, craft of direction and so many things. Yes there is a lot of money involved in the production of a full length feature film. It is not only an art form but I rather say it is a commercial art where a lot of creative inputs are sourced from different departments. But does this commercial art only stand for commerce or for some sort of social responsibility? Do films talk on social issues or are they just for the entertainment sake? Because, every art form is related to social responsibility and above all movies are the mirror of the society. Films are publicly released and appreciated, enjoyed by masses. But how many carry the issues related to masses? I was going through the releases of...

Photography through the years...

Image
Look at this camera.... most of you must have seen this age old device and got clicked your photograph through it.  I saw this camera in perfect working condition in a market. That photographer asked me if I wanted to have my photo. He was from a humble background and asking people to get their photograph clicked with lowest price, lower than the one clicked by latest technology digital cameras.

Brightest are mine...

Recently I visited my relatives in Brahampur with family. It is a tiny hamlet in   Bihar ’s Buxar District. This area is known for its Shiva temple and people used to make a visit during festivals and make offerings. Residents are normally calm and hugely dependent on agriculture.  Life in Brahampur starts early morning and ends in general around 7-8 PM. Though there are nothing much to do there for me, I normally spent my days chatting with my four years old little daughter and answering her childlike queries. Sometimes kids throw you such difficult question that you hardly have any answer to please them. Nights in Brahampur were pleasant so we usually go to the roof and look at the sky. Except for cloudy days, sky was always full of stars. It looked so complete and fascinating. My daughter excited as usual asked same question every night ‘why sky in Brahampur has so many stars’ and why there are no stars in Noida (Delhi NCR). She started counting as many a...

Bomb Blast: Tears and fears

Image
What is striking in the recent bomb blast in national capital is people’s growing disbelief in government, authorities and agencies. They are now aware of the fact that blaming to each other's repeated failures are just the routine work and on the other hand agencies believe that after some days of excessive media criticism people will stop thinking about the incident and hence nobody will take note of it. Public are also in view that opposition parties will take this bomb blast as an opportunity to make some statements without taking any concrete step towards bashing government for its inefficiency to tackle such terror attacks in the future. And government as usual tries to defend her position by saying they had the information and already passed it to the state agencies to take further action. A classic example of passing the buck. Being a media professional I come across a lot of people daily from different walks of life and believe me they all are in view that govern...

Chillar Party: Movie Review

Image
There are many children films where they talk seriously about issues related to children, where children play protagonists and yet they do not even come close to list as children films. But they carry a tag. Very few movies celebrate childhood the way it has been celebrated in the film 'Chillar Party'. It is fun to watch as children take a stand for their issues and fight for them. Their battle is no way a heroic battle unlike our feature films but it is very much childish in nature. This film has the strength to take you to the tour of your childhood days. You will feel nostalgic and a mischievous smile will certainly come on your face.  There are many moments in the film where it slows down but within minute it picks up. It raises curiosity about what these children will do to save the orphan boy, who cleans cars in their society and his dog from a stupid politician. I loved their chaddi March and all the kids who acted in the film. This movie has cr...
