Most Beautiful Lily On Earth

Last 10 days were pretty hectic for me. I was traveling to north eastern part of India on a special project. There are so many reasons why I enjoy my work. One of the motivation is it provides me a great scope to visit unknown and unexplored places and meet wonderful people from different walks of life. I always desired to see the beauty of north east states of India but because of some or the other reasons never had the time to trip there.

This time I was excited, thrilled and delighted...as I was going to the one of the seven sister states of India...Manipur. It is such a beautiful state with bundle of natural and unexplored magnificence. People are peaceful and fun loving. Imphal, the capital of Manipur is well connected by air and by road route. Imphal Tulihal airport is linked with major cities Delhi, Calcutta, Guwahati of India. There are many private buses available from Guwahati on daily basis to Manipur. Hiring a taxi in Imphal is a bit costly and they are not easy to find and above all their fares are much beyond our imagination. The reason is petroleum products are not easily available and most of the times they are empty. People get their vehicles parked all night for a refill.

I got the opportunity to visit Ukhrul, a beautiful district which is known for Shiroy Lily, locally known as Kashongwon. Shiroy Lily is also the state flower of Manipur. Unique in character and if viewed from a microscope Shiroy Lily has seven color compared to other lilies in the world and it can be seen light pink in color. Ah... I did not get a chance to see this beautiful and rare Lily, but if you are going to Manipur's Ukhrul district between second week of May to June 1st week you may get a chance to see its beauty.
